NEK: I wonder who it could possibly be…

He’s covered a lot of distance then.

  • 10/02/2016 at 1:23pm

It has to be Walker. He’s the only person I can think of Mandy and Grim being upset to see, as he’s a real stick-to-the-rules type a guy and a big enforcer of his laws. Seeing as how Mandy is a power-crazed psycho-bitch, she probably does illegal trading (or something like that) in the Ghost Zone or has caused the Ghost Zone problems in the past. There’s also the fact that Mandy is currently pregnant with Dan’s spawn, this could be a big reason Mandy doesn’t want anything to do with Walker at the moment, as he’s currently hunting Dan (as scene with his wanted poster in the bar), and i’m sure he could probably know that he was with her (or even know she’s pregnant with his child, he is all powerful so he might be able to sense it), this could be a big reason his son was in that bar in the first place, he may have been sent to hunt down Dan so he was looking in random places harboring top-class criminals like Rook and Kevin. Unless that kid was Walker, which I doubt since they gave him some edgy name then added “Walker” at the end of it when Demongo was explaining his status to Chi.

    Lemme guess. HIM

    • 10/04/2016 at 2:41am

There’s no way it’s HIM, Mandy would have attacked him right there if it was. Its no in her character to hold back something like that since the main reason she wanted to go to this meeting was to beat the shit out of HIM. The only person for her and Grim to fear right now is Walker.

We finally get to see this Council. I’ve waited for years,

ATHDLG, if you ever read this. I know that I don’t deserve your forgiveness for my last comment. On the day I posted it, I’d had a long day. I have no excuse, for what I said. I lost my self control, and I hurt my friend. Nothing hurts more, than knowing that you have hurt a friend. I know that I deserve no forgiveness, and I have no excuse. I am an evil pig, and will never be able, to make up for my sin. I tried to say, that I could have said worse. I know now, that there is nothing worse, I could have possible said. The most I can ask of you… The most I don’t deserve, is to give me a hint, to where this review might be. I have made mistakes in what I have said to you, and in my stories. Reviews help me find my mistakes and improve. I had no place, to say what I said. I had no place, to bring real world politics, onto something as fun and enjoyable as Grim Tales. I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I will never deserve your forgiveness. I don’t even deserve I hint, but I ask for one. So I may avoid, saying things like that in the future. I can only hope for a hint, before I go mad. If you are still engraved at me, if you ever read this, I understand. I will search on my own, till I find it. If you never do, I bid thee goodbye. I thank you, for putting up with my evil bullshit.

To the German people, and the many people of the world I have offended, with my last comment. I know, that I will never deserve your forgiveness. I am an evil pig. I am an idiot, and I will never be able to make up, for what I said. If you desire to see me dead, I understand. I bid thee all goodbye.

      09/28/2016 at 9:09pm

I have no idea what any of this is but if the two of you got torn up over something as stupid as a council on a fictional web comic then he probably wasn’t really your friend.

      • 09/28/2016 at 10:25pm

That’s not what I was apologizing for. I’m apologizing for a terrible comment, I made on the most recent page, of Kayos Gaiden. Something that I will never repeat and will most likely delete, that offends everyone in the world. So hence, it’s nothing about the council. So, bye for now.

      • athdlg

        09/29/2016 at 4:16am

It sounds like we’re friends in that paragraph, huh? We’re not friends, I barely know them.
I promised Commander a review, I never stated when I would be able to put it up because I’m a bit busy this month. I kept on delaying it because I didn’t have time. I finally finished it and was about to come on and post it; however, I saw a comment I was not pleased with and was irritated by the contents. Not because of the mentioning Gestapo either, I couldn’t care less for the mentioning of the group.

    • athdlg

      09/29/2016 at 4:18am

I was not your friend, I don’t know anyone on here that well. I’ll tell you, to ease some of your confusion, bringing up past politics had nothing to do with the comment.

    • Lolwutpear_126

      09/29/2016 at 10:55am

@Commander16: I don’t know what all of this drama is about, but go flay yourself 666 times now and everything will be fine.

        Ixnay on the insay.

      • 09/30/2016 at 1:39am

@ Lolwutpearl_126, I know it’s close to Halloween… But when you say something involving those numbers… I thought I was bad with the whole “Stalin and Hitler” things. Plus, I understand that people make typos, but you REALLY, need spellcheck. I’m about 71% sure there’s no such word as flay.

@ATHDLG, I have no excuse for what I said. I think I might have made it worse. In fact, on the most recent Kayos Gaiden page, I left a comment right under response to the “Gestapo” one. That’s where I included real world politics. I know that… That candidiate I mentioned.,, can offend people, just by the mention of his name. I know not, what I did to offend you, but I will not do it again. I can only hope that you can tell me. Then, I can correct myself. If it is my hostile behavior, then I believe that I explained that I had a long day. I know you don’t consider us friends… But I do. You’re the only person, who’s volunteered to review. I’ve seen no other reviews, and I highly doubt anyone, even you, would want to. But I understand if you withdrawal. I’ll just look on every page of Grim Tales, until I find it. If you were irritated, by my asking for a review again, then I don’t have an explanation. I just, don’t have anyone else reviewing my story, and I don’t know who’d want to. So, you’re my only hope. I can only beg, the forgiveness I know I don’t deserve. So, I hope to find your review, as soon as I can. I’m not sure, but I think that some FanFictions have said worse things. Like, an idea some find interesting, and others don’t like, (I’m kinda neutral n this subject) is shipping Junior… With Mandy. I’m neutral on that for several reasons, but that has nothing to do with this. I know I’ve bugged you repeatedly. I know everyone on this site, has a real life off the internet. But reviews help me to improve. To know what I’ve done wrong, and hope to fix it. An impatient man like me, can only find help on this here on the internet. I know that I’ve offended people and irritated people like you, but I try as hard as I can to make amends. My father always told me, that if I fail try again, till you succeed. I’m sure that I will fail at amends this time, but this time I know I won’t succeed. I know I don’t deserve forgiveness. So I may stop trying this time. So I guess I’ll start searching for that review now,

        • athdlg

          09/30/2016 at 1:53am

It’s the internet, Commander. 666 are merely numbers with the current symbolism involving Satan and the Anti-Christ.’Flay’ is a word; it means to peel one’s skin off (in various ways) or to criticize someone harshly.

          • Lolwutpear_126

            09/30/2016 at 12:21pm

Geez, ATHDLG, seems like you got yourself a fanboy willing to lick your toes just so you forgive him. Pat him on the head already.

            09/30/2016 at 12:25pm

Also, I guess I meant ‘flagellate’. I guess commander16’s drama just boggled my mind in such a manner that I couldn’t come up with the right term. Oh well, ‘flay’ will do just as well.

          • 10/01/2016 at 1:50am

I thank you for clearing that up for me. I know I REALLY don’t deserve anything from you, since I’ve said something stupid. And I highly doubt anyone could say anything stupider. So, I know I’m not getting a hint as to where I could find the review. If I ever do get a hint, to finding a review I know that it would probably not be something like, “look where you’d never expect it.” So, I’ve been looking from page 1 to find it, and haven’t found it. I know I’ll never deserve your forgiveness. So, I’ll stop asking. But, I won’t stop looking for a review, until I find one. If not from a great man like you, then from someone else.

id say the reaction is too mild for it to be HIM.

remember that at this point in time, HIM has basically wrecked mandy’s precious vault and mandy herself has been preparing for war. if it was HIM, mandy would have a much more cold or mad expression, instead of an annoyed one.

I’ve always imagined that an eventual confrontation between those two would turn into Him demanding that Mandy return what she stole from him.
And Mandy biting back by asking whether he means the Primal Evil or the child he forced to bear it.

    Heh-heh, Heylr is “R’lyeh” backwards.

But why would Elder Things be doing such demeaning work as portering? Surely they have Shoggoths for that! (with the Old Ones around, they’ve got to be under control.”

Ahh, the corpse-city. Good eye. Turning it backwards and adding capitalisation makes it sound Norse and out of place.
If Bleed is taking inspiration from Lovecraft that’s very good. Better than Uncle Grandpa or Spongebob for example.

      • Santessen

        09/28/2016 at 10:19pm

Well, Lovecraft IS canon in Billy and Mandy (which this is after all fundamentally based on). Billy’s prank called Cthulhu and been an acolyte of Yog-Sothoth. And (as I think I mentioned back on the old forum) Jeff may be a Purple Spider of Leng (he’s big, intelligent and well, purple*).

Makes me wonder if Mandy’s vault contains such tasty items as the Pallid Mask (given she has slept around with pretty much everyone else, I’d say having a fling with the King in Yellow would not be beyond her.)

        * The only problem I have with this theory is that in Wrath of the Spider Queen we see a lot of other members of whatever species Jeff is, many of whom are NOT purple.

        • Grids

          09/29/2016 at 12:29pm

Sothoth or Soggoth? I’ve heard different versions.

The Nergal was originally Lovecraftian too, right? Or was he Spawn? I’m out of practice.

          • Santessen

            09/29/2016 at 11:39pm

Sothoth, usually. I think the ending may be intentionally meant to be reminiscent of the Egyptian god Thoth, who is in charge of magic (you’ll note Azathoth has the same ending) You may be mixing it up with “shoggoth” which is different. A lot of the Lovecraftian names are pretty similar whether by accident or on purposed (like how Cthuga (the fire Elder God) sounds like some sort of portmanteau of Cthulhu and Tsathoggua (the Bat-Toad earth elemental). And the sheer ambiguity of pronunciation probably gives some leeway in spelling (if the names cannot be correctly pronounced by human throats, they presumably cannot be spelled with human letters.)

Nergal’s appearance may be sort of Lovecraftian (with his shape shifting powers and ability to mix with humanity he’s a bit like Nyarlahotep) but the actual name Nergal is of Babylonian origin, and comes from the Bible/Torah “And the men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal” (2 Kings, 17:30).

  • Lolwutpear_126

    09/28/2016 at 10:58am

This page could’ve been way more condensed. The first two panels weren’t necessary since the last page already clearly showed that the train was reaching its destination. Also, Mandy complaining like that just doesn’t seem to fit her personality. She acts all sorts of spoiled while she’s normally a cold-hearted, uncaring bitch. Bleed’s style seems to become more and more simplistic, just look at Mandy’s face. And then I wonder why it takes so much waiting for a new page to be created. Pace is still slow as fuck and the audience is barely getting any input to discuss about. All in all quite a disappointment.

    • Aros001

      09/28/2016 at 5:07pm

I feel like nearly falling into a black hole is a reasonable thing to complain about, so I don’t see what’s so spoiled about it.

      • Lolwutpear_126

        09/29/2016 at 10:51am

Then you obviously haven’t paid attention to Mandy’s character development. But by now she’s probably pregnant of the ghost twins, so maybe this justifies her acting like a pussy afterall.

Doesn’t this whole dimensional hopping through wormholes/blackholes/plotholes kinda clash with Chi’s belief of the Ghost Zone being an impenetrable obstacle which she can find NO way around? Makes me think her beliefs are based on lies told to protect her.

If it is then I will call complete and utter bullshit as Aku specifically left Chi to be watched by the guard and that’d he basically have their heads if anything happened to her or if she left the castle.

So if other Chi is here by some unholy coincidence I can officially say i’m done as that directly contradicts the story from earlier.

Holy Hell, it’s Malebolgia! And… Satan from “South Park”?!
As for the “Mandy did 9/11” thing… sometimes I feel as I’m the only one who can’t for my life see why people loosing their crap over it. And that’s coming from someone who think that 9/11 was one the most tragic events of that century and still mourning it every year. Come on, people, it was just a story device to show how cold-hearted, ruthless & inhuman Mandy was. Not that great story device, but alas, the next most evil thing is Hitler, and he’s already taken – by time’s flow and being overused in every other work, from comix to games to god knows what. It’s just a goddamn fiction, get over it already. It was presented as it was – as the evil thing, it wasn’t justified as something good, stop treating it like a real crime, for Pete’s sake.

Yes, you were the only one that found a children’s cartoon character causing 9/11 for the evulz and another being a pseudo-nazi in bad taste. I honestly don’t know how you feel that way.

    • 09/28/2016 at 4:00am

      Hey Nommy~
I thought it was a parody comic back in the day. Kinda stopped reading it until we went over it. Finding out its meant to be taken seriously? Ehhhh…
Ain’t a fan, hes got talent, but the stories kinda meh.
Y’know i don’t give a damn what someone draw, as long as they ain’t a dick, or something. :>
I was told hes a “jerkoff”. That’s what a couple friends told me. Whatever the hell that means.
Characters are cute. Kinda bland tho.
Point being, yeah, that part was shit. At least to me. I just don’t read the comic enough to care.
I can see how it weird you out XD

    • 09/28/2016 at 12:00pm

        09/28/2016 at 2:48pm

@Biostar- Can’t tell if your being sarcastic.
@IDKY- Wasn’t really expecting you care, since i know you don’t really like the comic. Thanks for your input, however.
@Gundam – Thats close to making a demon character who caused Chernobyl disaster because “it just fit”
There are ways to write this into a story without being gross about it. If it was written better, i might not have even left the comment.

I’m not offended or anything, but given the release date, the original disclaimer before it was removed, and the fact that it seemed like a cheap way to throw in as many cameos as possible, i still find it in poor taste.
Do I have a long standing problem with this? No, but that doesn’t excuse that its inappropriate in a way.

        • SlayerRequiem

          09/28/2016 at 9:30pm

Well, if you’d like I can point you to several well-written and best selling fiction novels that call out supernatural, and non-supernaturally evil beings for disasters just like that. To give it a perspective, its far more compelling to think of events based in the real world that are horrible having some grim, powerful evil as the source, rather than happenstance, or regular people. It easily sets a premise, you don’t need to describe how horrible they are, you just need to show that they are responsible for a horrible event, and people can fill in the blanks.

In this case, I see it as showing that Mandy is even MORE evil in this story than in the original source material. To the point that with the power, she’d not only make the world a worse place for most, but she’d happily sow the seeds of despair. In writing, plays, movies, comics, and anime using real world history has been a tradition for as long as there has been any of these things.

I think that perhaps the worst idea is that because its raw, or sensitive it can’t be used. In fact historically its always been the opposite. We use recent events to hit the exact feelings, and some will be upset, but if you want to create a character that is unlikable, and lets be far Mandy was only supposed to be likable in a schadenfreude sort of way. I’ve been reading for a long time, and I watched the source material, I think that if they could get away with it, the creators of the Grim Adventures wouldn’t have had a hard time say Mandy was capable, and willing to do worse given the opportunity.

Now if you want to say it wasn’t the best written part of the story, I can agree overall. Though it was a flashback, which in my opinion are notoriously poor to have in a story, they are basically just there to skip content, which could have a larger, more interesting part. They are more important in content meant to be consumed in total in a short period, like movies, television, and plays. Although, television is growing more and more comfortable with multiple episode flashbacks in some shows.

In Reverse: HeyLr – Rl’yeh: Sunken city of the Elder Ones in lovecraftian lore.

Old Ones: Lovecraftian race with star shaped heads.

Smart money says the leader is Cthulhu, or something like it.
