I love that fact that everyone freaks about two consenting skeletons having intercourse, which honestly isn’t that weird, believe me there are worst things out there than this, but yet, barely anyone freaks out over Minnie’s incest feelings for Jr. I’m pick and choose your poison wisely folks. If you’re going to freak out about one thing, freak about it all. Truthfully, Minnie’s feelings creep me out more than this, which is sad, because everyone else seems to be the complete opposite. But if you’re going to go against one immoral thing, might as well go against the rest of them. Honestly, complain more about the plot than the morals right now. Though, it is not borderline pedophilia. Since they are close to the same age, and pedophilia is only people who sexual feelings for children under the ages of puberty, so technically it won’t ever be classified as that because there’re both why pasted the puberty stage. Then again, can’t complain about them being dead, since Mandy married a Skeleton anyways. I think you guys are making a way too big of a deal out of that.

I agree with what Mandy says in the fourth panel. Even she acknowledges that things in this comic haxe become a chaotic bundle of multiple plots with no end!

@Grids I’d LOVE to know all of the orginal concepts an plot points that had been planned for this before you left. I’d also enjoy seeing what you would have done differently.

… Why are the majority of people commenting all ignoring the fact that Grim says “Ma” with quotation marks? As in, she’s not his mother in the biological sense? Maybe they adopted Grim?

    • Grids

      02/10/2017 at 1:49am

It’s already been established waaaaay back at the start of the comic that reapers are not born but created. That’s how junior was made.

      Junior wasn’t born a reaper.

      He was made into one.

The sheer diversity of the reapers featured in these bizarre pages also fits that bill. Why THIS page exists I’ve no idea. Does anyone need more explanation?

      • Lolwutpear_126

        02/10/2017 at 12:18pm

It must be exhausting to keep telling people over and over what actually happened in the comic prior, eh, Grids?

This is why I hate pages like these. They seem to debunk what was earlier established in the story and thus make no sense at all. Just like with Bleed shoehorning Jewel into the comic and retconning Minniemandy into an evil bitch like her mom.

All wasted potential. SUCH wasted potential.

  • Santessen

    02/09/2017 at 7:30am

Actually (as I have pointed out earlier) not all the reapers would have this problem. Most animals have a baculum (penis bone); humans are one of the VERY few animals that don’t (some scientists thing its loss was an evolutionary advantage by allowing sex in more positions (and hence more opportunities) So the Snake reaper and possibly the alien/demon reaper presumably have one as well (assuming they are male)

But ultimately their ability to have sex (whether with or without conception) is no more odd than their having eyes or hair (it’s not like they have wisps left hanging to fragments of leftover skin on their scalps that’s full rich luxurious hair that even Brook would be proud of.

    • Lolwutpear_126

      02/09/2017 at 12:24pm

There’s still some vital things missing, though. Such as sperm and a womb, to begin with. The very basic things necessary to create life. I feel like I’m talking to gradeschoolers who’ve never had sexual education in class. *sigh*

    • Santessen

      02/09/2017 at 10:41pm

Hm, wonder how he’s going to explain the whole ‘reapers doing the nasty and making babies’ thing. I’m kind of leaning towards Akutenshiizero’s theory, but at the same time, I have doubts that this will be explained at all and left to be interpreted as comic logic. Either way, not my favorite pages at the moment. I’m itching to get to the court scene, or Chi’s confrontation with the other heirs.

  • Susaigi

    02/08/2017 at 11:38am

I’m like 90% positive that Bleedman purposefully drags out the exposition just to see everyone gripe about it (Even making characters complain about it, i.e. Mandy). That being said, I have no problem with it. Wish there were more frequent updates, but I understand these things take work. What I don’t understand is why there are so many people constantly bemoaning his work and being so unnecessarily critical. Let the man build on the mythos, its practically what his comics revolve around.

On his DeviantArt page he recently posted a new profile picture with ‘internet drama’ listed as one of his pet peeves. I really don’t understand why he would pull this shit on us when this page would obviously cause a SHITSTORM of drama… I think NEK suggested this crap and Bleed just drew it because it meant he could draw his ‘new cool designed character’ fucking a loli…

Has anyone considered that because they are about to invade the LIFE-MAKER’S realm, that maybe that is how Grim’s parents were able to have a child? Just a thought, I mean it stands to reason that they themselves are incapable of creating life as it goes completely against what they are, so they invade the life-maker’s realm and steal that power by force. Or maybe they just get mutated by the living energies or whatever and become the first reapers capable of conception.

I mean just because two skeletons are…boning…doesn’t mean that anything will come of it right now. It could just be that reapers engage in such carnal activities for the hell of it. Canon isn’t broken yet, guys, chill.

    • Grids

      02/07/2017 at 10:55pm

Can I point out that Junior was not conceived as a reaper but as a human child who was then killed and turned into a reaper?
Reapers clearly don’t reproduce biologically. Are we forgetting some reapers look like aliens, snakes and other stuff? They would have been converted – HARVESTER – from their original race. Grim is only Junior’s father as far as it was his touch of death that turned him to bone. I always assumed the same case went for Earl and Grim.
Which then leads to this – reapers have no biological NEED for sex beyond pleasure, but how do you please death? I always assumed it was through more death.
Skele-sex, blushing bones, smoking cigarettes when you physically have no lungs…. the more you delve in, the less and less sense you can make of it

  • Mr.Spooky

    02/07/2017 at 9:29pm

Dude what the fuck, Bleed just spat in the face of how and why Junior came to be. This shit right here is ridiculous. I just want to see this shit get back on track. I’ll be in my 50s before we get to Afterbirth

  • red bear

    02/07/2017 at 8:23pm

OK, I don’t understand Bleedman at all. I mean – yes, I understand that original show has been contradicting itself, that you, the author, sometimes can forget about some things. But in the end, I thought that Bleedman loves Grim Tales, loves so much that he just want to draw it no matter what. But that… I’m sorry, but I fail to see any love for the story here. The only reason I could see it being here – if all of it will be dismissed later, I don’t know, as “drunk talk”, or whatever “it was actually not true” reason. I don’t know what Bleedman thinks, but right now it looks like a bad joke, as if he’s consciously trolling his fans, or testing how much crap they can tolerate.
I always trying to stand on middle ground, neither fawning nor crapping over Bleedman and his comix. I’ll continue to watch his works, but right now, for the first time, I’ve got a very strong desire to say “to Hell with it”, drop it and never returns.

As for the “creating life” – aren’t you missing something very critical here? Like, them being bloody Reapers? They are not alive. Of fucking course they can’t create life. And they will not. They create Death. As in – just another Reaper. I see no problems with that.
And if you’re trying to apply normal logic in fantasy setting, then I’ve got very interesting question for you – then how the Hell they, bones and nothing else, blushing? They have no blood in this bones, they can’t blush. Granted, Grim Jr. HAS blood in him thanks to that demonic symbiont, but it’s GREEN blood.

My theory bribing Grim being born is because whoever is behind that gate must’ve made a deal with Grim’s dad. If they give him a son then he will stay in line and not enter through the gate.

Furthermore – the grim reaper is an illustrious hard-won title amongst the reapers. There are LOTS of reapers and they are millennia old.
Yet the biggest badass is in the equivalent of high school??
What kind unoriginal Mary Sue Fonzie every-anime-ever bullshit is that?

    • Aros001

      02/07/2017 at 7:31pm

No offense or disrespect intended but isn’t Junior about eleven years old? And yet he and his ten year old sister nearly caused Armageddon (according to Clockwork) with what they created? And doesn’t Junior still technically have that power, just without the proper knowledge to use it well?

      • Grids

        02/07/2017 at 8:06pm

Junior is 13 roughly. And yeah he still has that power.
What I’m comparing I think is rather different. We are talking about a race that transcends the eons granting its biggest and best title to a high schooler. It’s very anime.
As opposed to it being a birthright like the Avatar or something. Unless it IS and that’s just not been explained very well.

        • Aros001

          02/07/2017 at 10:04pm

I guess I was just thinking more in terms of power. Earl is supposed to be the best and likely the most powerful of all the Reapers we’ve seen. I’m comparing it to Junior, whom is even younger yet has a good deal more of power. I just think at some point age is a moot point. Heck, in the original show Grim was given the title of Grim Reaper while in middle or high school (again, hopefully the comic will firmly establish how Grim became the Grim Reaper in this continuity, because it will either straighten things out or confirm that things are not adding up).

          • Grids

            02/07/2017 at 10:29pm

Ahh but you see Juniors power comes from inheriting the Nergal abilities of his sister. Prior to that he’s not shown to have any powers of note since his father still holds the position of Grim Reaper.

          • Aros001

            02/08/2017 at 9:15am

But I was always under the impression that Minnie’s Nergal power helped to awaken Junior’s Reaping abilities, thus how he was able to reap Minnie’s soul when she died and thus why the creature they created was called the Demon Reaper. I think I’m simply just misunderstanding what you’re saying (sorry about that). I guess for me, in a story world where two children can unintentionally create a beast that threatens all of existence, I don’t really have that much of a problem with the greatest of all Reapers being the equivalent of a high school jock.

Stop derailing my comment. Go discuss this ‘page’ in your own clusterfuck of comments and subcomments. I need no rational discussion of this page right now. Am I really the only one seeing how utterly WRONG this page is? Did people really degenerate that much over the centuries? I guess so.

          • Aros001

            02/08/2017 at 4:10pm

Uh…we weren’t responding to your comment. I was responding to Grids comment of “the grim reaper is an illustrious hard-won title amongst the reapers”, which is the comment directly below yours, and he was politely responding back to me. We are not derailing any comment of yours.

And given that we are debating whether this page and what is happening is good or bad, rational discussion is exactly what we need. For example, I don’t see how this page is pedophilia. If the Reapers are supposed to be millennia old and Earl the equivalent of a high school jock, it’s probably safe to say that the same is true with Grim’s mother, so how is the the two of them together pedophilia?

And as for necrophilia, Mandy is married to the Grim Reaper. Junior, whom is also a Reaper, has a crush on Mimi and Minnie has a crush on him. This isn’t exactly new territory for this comic. Heck, Grim’s parents having sex with each other is probably the most normal thing we’ve seen involving the Reaper’s, given that they’re both dead instead of just one of them.

Honestly my only problem with this page is that it’s hard to imagine that little Reaper girl growing up to become the curmudgeonly old woman we see in the actual show, though I suppose being trapped inside a literal lamp for years would leave anyone salty and bitter.

Honestly I think a lot of people’s problems would be clear up if it was established in the story how Grim became the Grim Reaper, as the original show had several different reasons given. One was that his parents pushed him into doing it, another was that he was born as the Grim Reaper, and another was that he won the title of Grim Reaper back in High School (or was it middle school?). Regardless I think it would help everyone firmly establish whether what is happening makes sense or not instead of everyone just getting pissed off at each other and the comic. Heck, it might even be explained in this chapter, given that clearly something is going to happen to all these other Reapers.

    • menamai

      02/07/2017 at 2:40pm

I have no problem with two skeletons bumping bones. I mean – c’mon people, they don’t need any extra parts, they are both literally made of bones! How they do it, it’s up to them, but one thing is obvious – they can’t make a baby that way. Mandy is a human, she can create life, only not with the reaper. Two reapers together – even less so. The attack on the life-makers is going to end bad, but who knows, maybe it will explain this universe’s Grim’s origins. The original show couldn’t make up it’s mind about Grim, so it’s still up to interpretation after all.

    • Santessen

      02/07/2017 at 6:43pm

Well, is it any harder to imagine this badass Grim Sr. turning into a balding 1950’s TV era type suburban father with a country music fetish?

  • Xaetamin

    02/07/2017 at 11:24am

For those of you who are confused, remember that the only reason Grim could have a child was by aborting Junior on the day of his birth. Someone else had to get Mandy pregnant. Even though the thought of two skeletons having sex is confusing, there’s no evidence it isn’t possible (for all we know, there’s some supernatural activity that effectively equals sex for reapers). Besides that, Grim never outright states that his parents banging one another was how he was born. This could serve as the build up for explaining the truth behind Grim’s origins just as much as it is him trying to give Mandy another option to consider.

Technically if u follow by the rules of the world. When two grim reaper’s do the deed they have the blessing of the creators to bare a new reaper thus following their species. But since this was a relation of two different species like a reaper and a human they could not reproduce with one another baring a child so due to that fact mandy slept with other men to bare child thuse giving birth to the children of destruction……..or so mandy hoped but she ended up with a grim jr that has the ultimate power of a reaping god and yet acts very childish and an undead daughter with an incest complex & the skills of mandy drilled into her brain. Plus another ghost child on the way. So yeah thats how thay had children but i do wonder if grim jr is gonna end up with like a harem with minnie Mandy, mimi, and that one girl that’s in love with mimi.

    • SageTheBearded

      02/07/2017 at 9:35am

That’s not really true. See, Grimm’s mom was a reaper. Mandy is human. We have no evidence that Grimm’s mom had the same problems that Mandy does because they are completely different races. Two reapers might have no problem making kids, where a reaper and a human have issues. We also don’t have any evidence that Grimm’s mom and dad didn’t have some sort of surrogate mother. You guys are basically jumping to conclusions with absolutely no evidence.

We are first of all discussing the fact that two SKELETONS are bumping nasty despite a total lack of the necessary anatomy to do so.
Second, their method of creating more reapers (creating life if you will) flies in the face of their very existence AND the fact they’re about to raid the realm of those who grant life.
And third, Junior was not a skeleton at birth. Grim extended his influence and turned the baby into a reaper. Go back and read it again.

I don’t think this page ever once mentioned the Reapers being able to breed with each other, merely that they were capable of having some form of sex with each other. You’re right that they lack to necessary anatomy compared to humans, but keep in mind, near the very beginning of the comic when Junior is reading the story of how Grim and Mandy got married, it was shown that the two did have a honeymoon, which Grim called the night of the loving dead. You could argue that night was spent only pleasing Mandy, but I find that unlikely. So the story has already established that Grim and likely the Reapers of the past are capable of somehow getting pleasure from sex despite having no flesh of their own.

If you think I’m reaching to try and explain things, you could be right. But just like how you wrote Chi, Walker, and Jewel to fit the story before Bleedman apparently went back on letting you back in (which I do agree sucks, as the scripts were pretty good), I’d rather think of how something could work, rather than just saying that it’s bad and always will be bad.

I made an account just to add on to you, Aros001, According to the show grim could in fact feel pain when you hit his bones, so it’s likely that he’d be able to feel pleasure as well~

Grimm wasn’t made til after they invaded that realm, meaning whatever they did might have given them the ability to grant life, so again, you’re jumping to conclusions. Also, not sure why Junior being a skeleton matters, I would assume you misunderstood what my comment was getting at, since I never even mentioned Junior being skeletal in my former post, so I don’t see why I’d need to go back and read it again. Also, we’re not talking about two skeletons having sex, we’re talking about two reapers having sex. We have no idea how they even enjoy themselves.

The imagery, language and even the TITLE of this page makes it pretty clear what they were portraying.
The reapers have been shown to add to their number by harvesting living beings from various races. They are death. Not life. Grim came along after the raid on the life realm, sure, but where did all the OTHER reapers come from before then? How did they sustain themselves?
If they had the ability to create their own race FROM WITHIN their own race, there’d be no purpose to raiding the Life Givers at all.

@Grids, wait a minute, who ever told that they attacking that Life Realm for the ability to create life? As far as we’ve seen it, it’s just an accumulated ire from unfair work mixed with weariness from said work and/or boredom from centuries of one & the same work.

If you’d paid attention, you’d know that a new reaper came into being every time a new race was born or created. For every race, there is a reaper to deliver their souls after they die. I think that was mentioned one chapter ago.

It was actually 3 chapters ago, but yeah, it was indeed covered already. Recently.

      Yeah, it doesn’t make sense.
But would it be possible that Dad grim and Mom grim were using their ghosts to bone and they just had their skeletons close to actually move their ghosts close enough to do so? Then if they felt like having kids, they’d just kidnap a child or use a infant dying in the womb to raise a kid? Does that sound plausible or no?
