She's kidnapped, again. But now her spirit can annoy you. One would hope that she isn't as annoying as Navi.

Zelda kidnapped. Her spirit gets disembodied. Now she can take over those Phantoms and fight the other ones. When did Navi ever do anything that useful?
Aparently that tower that gets blown up in the trailer generates these 'Spirit Tracks', that seal an ancient evil within the planet. Kinda typical story if you ask me. Anyway, this demon is trying to revive the evil (And it's really obvious the guy's a demon. He's short, has sharp teeth, and wears 2 tophats to cover his horns, who wouldn't get suspicious about that?) So the demon kidnaps Zelda, blows up the tower, and it's up to Link, this guard guy, and Zelda's spirit to go around to dungeons, find floors of the tower, and put it back together again, and climb up it in the same way you went down through the temple in the last game.

So does this take place prior to Wind Waker? It's kinda hard to be Princess Zelda when your kingdom is under water.

So what was the whole use of sinking Hyrule in the first place?

to now make it almost impossible for anyone get to the Triforce, Ganon, and the Mastersword.

and nintendo hasn't revealed the name of the "new hyrule" yet. I'm just calling it that until they do.

Tis about damn time Nintendo does this.

So the game takes place at least 100 years after PH? How does this workout if it's supposed to be the same link? I know that Link never ages for us, but they can't expect us to believe that the same Link as WW and PH stayed young for 100 years, unless they drank some youth potion or something.

Nintendo has not ever really released a cohesive time line and the games are each stand alone games not inter-related to each other.

Also I have always had a soft spot for zelda and I will probably pick this one up too, zelda has always served me well on plane flights.

As AVGN explained, the 2D Zelda games are the last in the series. I didn't keep up with much else.

That would mean that WW takes place either after OoT or after A Link to the past.

After Phantom Hourglass.

I've only played OoT, MM, WW, TP, so yeah, my Zelda chronology is pretty simple.

PH is after WW.

Gametrailers does a very good job of putting all the Zelda games in order tho it isn't official it seems like a good theory.

I agree, and they bring up past articles that support the "split time line" theory.

I really don't see how people can't "understand" it. It's just two parallel worlds exist from that cause. Though in my own theory, I think the Oracle of Seasons and Ages are what bring the time lines back into a single fold.

Everything ese aside, I really dig the Spirit Tracks theme music they've been using in trailers.
